Australia’s Healthy Weight Week 15th-21st February 2016 is about inspiring Australian adults to make simple changes towards smart eating.
Did you know 63% of adults in Australia are overweight or obese?
60% of women and 43% of men want to lose weight and 38% of adults want to adopt healthier eating habits.
Advice on healthy eating and drinking can be a tangle of contradictions as dietary advice is always evolving.
The Dietitians Association of Australia (DAA) is the peak body of dietetic and nutrition professionals, providing strategic leadership in food and nutrition through empowerment, advocacy, education, accreditation and communication.
Evidence indicates a multi-disciplinary approach to weight management is required, your Doctor and an accredited practising dietitian can offer patients tailored nutrition and dietary advice based on the latest science.
To test your knowledge on Smart Eating, DAA have created a quick quiz, follow the link below to complete the quiz, http://daa.asn.au/for-the-public/smart-eating-for-you/smart-eating-quiz/
We are encouraging anyone who thinks they or a family member (including children), may have a weight problem to arrange an appointment with one of our GP’s for a health check.
What the Doctor may do
