it has the highest rate of skin cancer in the world, and untreated skin cancers can become life-threatening. A regular skin screen of skin spots and moles can prevent the onset of skin cancer and melanoma.

Forrest Road GP’s Skin Cancer Clinic

Melanoma is the most common cancer in people aged 15-44 years. It accounts for 80% of all newly diagnosed cancers. Not all skin cancers are obvious or noticeable, and an annual
comprehensive skin screen is the best way to protect you and your loved ones from malignancies.

Dr Morisetty has a special interest in dermatology and skin cancer. Specialising in the detection, diagnosis, treatment and management of skin cancers, including pre-cancerous skin growths, basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and malignant melanoma. Dr Morisetty is fully qualified to perform skin checks, biopsies, removal of lesions and follow up treatment.

Skin Checks

A regular comprehensive head-to-toe skin check is the best way to identify any problem sunspots or moles.

Our skin checks are performed using the latest dermoscopy and imaging technology for mole mapping and assessment of potential skin cancer lesions. This technology is the world standard in early skin cancer diagnosis. It allows us to take magnified photographic images of your skin cells in order to fully assess any pigmentation and lesion anomalies that would otherwise be undetected by the naked eye.

The dermoscopic images are stored to assist us in monitoring any potential changes in the size, colour or borders of your skin spot or mole, to ensure the earliest possible detection of abnormal malignant activity.

Skin Lesion Removals

If you have a skin spot or mole that appears suspicious, a biopsy may be required to make a diagnosis and confirm the best treatment options. Dr Morisetty can perform most lesion  biopsies and excisions onsite, using techniques to ensure you are comfortable and that any potential for scarring is minimised.

Methods of skin cancer treatment available at Forrest Road GP include:

  • Biopsies of suspicious dermatological lesions
  • Surgical excision: removal of minor lesions, skin tag, moles and warts
  • Minor surgery
  • Wedge resections
  • Electrocautery
  • Cryotherapy
